Re: Bracketology -- Conference Finals
The Bruins are relying on their ability to out maneuver their opponents with depth and special teams efficiency in this year in the playoffs. On special teams the Bruins have 49 powerplays and defending 100% in 26 shorthanded opportunities. Outshooting their opponents 29-19 per game. It is obvious by in-season personnel moves that the team has taken a much finesse approach than traditionally and aim to neutralize Tampa's veteran stars. Expect young-guns Stamkos, Lucic, Krejci, Kessel and to have a big impacts in the series.
For the conference finals the Bruins have designated Patrice Bergeron and Erik Cole as alternate captains in home games and Jamie Langenbrunner with Jay Pandolfo on the road.
EHEC:
Bruins in 6.
Predators in 6.

Pretty exciting stuff. Yesterday was the first hockey game I've watched in a while. Halak.Penguin wrote:HOW BOUT THEM HABS?
San Jose and Chicago is going to go 7 games. In a slew of 2010 Olympians' the series best players are Thornton/Boyle; Toews/Keith. I think Chicago has too much depth and unless Thornton plays out of his mind Marleau, Boyle, Heatley isn't enough to trump Seabrook, Hossa, Campbell, Kane, Barker, and Sharp.

I was at the Bell Center. One of the best experiences of my LIFE.

Barker was traded for Kim Johnsson, who has missed the entire playoffs with a concussion.Bruins wrote:Pretty exciting stuff. Yesterday was the first hockey game I've watched in a while. Halak.Penguin wrote:HOW BOUT THEM HABS?

But I know what you mean. I think Chicago takes the series. Nabokov and Niemi both have something to prove (Nabokov has to prove that he can show up for big games and shed that "choker" title, and of course Niemi is still considered a playoff rookie even though he's put up two solid series), but I don't think goaltending will be the difference.

You guys believe the Habs can take home the cup? Beating teams like San Jose or Chicago?
I'm hoping we get Boston orelse Philly will be a much tougher series.
