What better time for a season preview than a couple weeks into the season? Before the season? Everyone was on holidays then, who would read it? Everyone does get summers off right?
Anyways, if we had done it before the season, it would have been a waste of ... um ... bandwidth? Because Les Habitants are a very different team than the one that started the season. First out the door was GM Monory Antonov who sought employment elsewhere. Ownership\'s favorite thing about Monory was the name of the city he was from (Reykjavik) so they tried to keep some of that with the team by hiring former Edmonton Oilers GM Vik, who has apparently offered to let the owners nickname him Reykja if they so choose.
Only a couple weeks into his hiring, the new GM has already come off as being rather trigger happy about making some changes to the roster. Some of the departed include star forward Andrei Kostitsyn, starting goaltender Samu Perhonen, and rookie scoring leader Colten St. Clair. When asked how trading key members of the lineup could positively impact the lineup, Vik smiled and nodded his head. It\'s possible the new GM is a bit of a simpleton. Anyways, some of the new faces joining the club are star defenceman Ryan Suter, one time 30 goal scorer Colin Wilson, and a few guys whose only real ability is hitting because apparently Vik\'s favorite cartoon character is Bamm-Bamm.
