Wow, thats pretty cool, Seb. How are you doing it, Visual Basic or something?

Not exactly the same area of expertise, but I think if you can somehow create website code that integrates the existing EHM program into a web page, that would be absolutely nuts. This has been done once to my knowledge, back in the day, an old league existed called BEML had this type of thing but it was definitely in its infancy. It wasn't all that complicated, but somehow it had something that allowed you to log in to the website and upload your .lns file and it would be able to read it and give you a graphical representation of your team. Of course, as time went on, more and more players were the 'create-a-player' with no picture, but that wouldn't be a problem in this type of league. Basically, it was just like an online version of an EHM GM panel. If you could somehow make a hybrid between having the simulator communicate with some sort of web code, I think you'd have yourself the best simulator on the internet.

thx,

i'm using c# , was using Java but graphically it was a pain in the ass.

I suck in web, for now I'm gonna concentrate on making the game desktop wise (like ehm) and then we'll see :P

at least we'll be able to update it, not like EHM who's been the same for years. :)

its a long process tho, be patient :)

He who shall not be named on these boards told me before communication ceased that he had a plan to do such a thing and we were going to be in talks to use it for this website going in to our second year.

Consequently, that won't happen due to circumstances, but it is definitely possible. Not quite sure how or what he did, but it can be done for sure.

I'm willing to help in any way i can. beta testing, stats or otherwise. I don't know much about any sort of programing code so helping with that - i would be more than useless.

I've thought about doing this for a while and never started because I don't know anything about AI and doing something more realistic than the freeware EHM engine would be rather complicated. NHL:EHM has a real game engine with each player's position visible throughout the play and that took a full-time dev team god knows how long to do, even with adapting the soccer manager's engine.

As for the .lns file I don't think the format is too complicated. The format is broken down here: http://ehm.fhockey.com/lns.htm. I could write something to convert it into a human-readable format and back but I'm well out of the loop for web design type stuff.
