Why my team is such in bad shape in the standings is my own fault. I haven't been around much this season until now. My team is better than what it has shown so far and I want to make trades to get better now; not to rebuild or think about next season.
I needed a puck moving, left-handed d-man and former Prime Minister Paul Martin will do the job just fine. At $3,6M, he does not come cheap but I got the space. We'll see what happens.
Could've tried and get Martin for something cheaper than a 2nd round pick but I wanted to get this done quick. Made my best offer right away and Dallas accepted.
