Reasoning: I had been getting quite a few offers for Elsner, so I put him on the trade block to see what the best offer I could get would be. I acquire a pair of prospects, one of which will fill my need for a shooting winger, another forward to develop in Kerdiles, and 2 second round picks to help with my future.

I wish Elsner the best on his way to the Big Apple, and look forward to welcoming the new youngsters.

I've had my eye on Elsner ever since I stupidly passed him by in the 2010 draft. He's a solid, consistent two-way player who can slot in immediately on my 2nd line, but may be best suited down the road as a 2nd/3rd line tweener, depending on team and game-night need. He'll also shore up my godawful penalty killing right away. Going the other way, I send two decent but replaceable prospects in Kerdiles and Martinook, and two picks. Sending my 2nd could be tough, as it's possible that could be in the 31-35 range, but you have to give to get. The third coming my way should yield a decent prospect, and it puts me 1/10th of the way towards my evil plan of collecting all the third rounds picks in 2014. (Plus I still have six picks in the first three rounds.)
