Pittsburgh Penguins -- NY Rangers

Post by Penguin »

That doesn't count as my New Years Resolution because I sent the offer before 2013!! :D

to NY Rangers: Hampus Lindholm (76), Steve Sullivan (76)
to Pittsburgh Penguins: Trent Hunter (78)

Reasoning: I have absolutely no more patience to wait on prospects to win and Lindholm didn't boost this year so he's been on the trade block since then. I was really proud of my pick when I got him in the 2nd round and he's the best player in the trade, but Trent Hunter should play a huge role on the 3rd line. Clarkson takes way too much penalties to play big minutes! As for Steve Sullivan, he was a throw-in for salary reasons.

Rangers accept.

Had a few nibbles for Hunter, but this one I liked the best. Another deal with the future in mind. Excepting for Sullivan, who'll either play out the string for us or be offered at the deadline.

And I'm proud of being able to continue my proud tradition of ending New Year's resolutions, mine and others. Good dealing with you, Bern.

Trade approved and entered.

As mentioned above, a boosted Lindholm is certainly the best player swapped in this deal. Pittsburgh is positioned for another deep postseason run, and adds a roster player for a prospect. New York is rebuilding and in the final analysis may win this swap handily.
