Pavel Kubina has been suspended for 8 games for injuring Dustin Brown for a period of 5 months.

Things get ugly for the Kings in LA tonight, losing Dustin Brown until at least late March, and eventually losing in a shootout following a couple of third period fights and a scoreless OT. The game of the night is in Pittsburgh, where the Pens give up a late game-tying goal and James van Riemsdyk scores the OT game winner with just five seconds left in the extra period. The Jackets apparently ate too much for Thanksgiving with their shitty effort at home against the Preds. The Jets take care of business against the Flyers, while da Hawks enjoy the return of Marian Hossa, who scores a goal and adds two assists, in a win over the Ducks. The Panthers make a statement smoking the Red Wings 5-1 thanks to Michael Frolik's three-point night. Washington, Phoenix, and Boston take care of business and the orphaned Blues keep winning.

We can beat the good teams, and struggle with the non-playoff teams. It is a mystery.

That's quite the statement by Florida there. Something about how dartboard-assigned lines do work.

Meanwhile, Pavel Kubina makes his own statement, which is that he is not known for his decision making skills. It's a fairly remarkable road win, coming back from 2 goals down on a 5 min major. But I'm not exactly looking forward to replacing Kubina's dumb ass for 8 games with some random AHL scrub. That's especially considering that Kubina has somehow been my best defenseman all season long.

And now I'm pretty much guaranteed a loss against Anaheim tomorrow because that useless shit Montoya went from happy to slumping 3 games after his last start

Oh, now I'm confused. Shouldn't red too much into it, maybe. It's only natural that Fro-yo shows up now and then. Seven takeaways for Peter Spruce Mountain!

If I could win just one game, it'd be against Detroit. :D

Good stuff. Gotta keep that momentum going for the five-game road swing... tough opponents upcoming in Detroit, Boston, and NJ.

Special teams seem to be holding their own so far this year. Phoenix has been unstoppable on home ice... we gotta get our road mojo going though or the next couple weeks could get ugly.
