New Jersey's struggles continue against the Maple Leafs. The Islanders' offseason additions figure prominently in a win against Tampa Bay. Columbus scores four unanswered goals to best Montreal. Detroit falls apart in the third period surrendering three goals to the Blues.

Phoenix steamrolls the host Predators. I started Brodeur hoping he would take the loss, starting fresh with Campbell on Friday. I guess not. Calgary nips the 'Canes in the shootout with a less than 100% Cam Ward. Jared Boll scores two goals in the same contest for the 1st time ever. Los Angeles is Los Angeles.

Aaaandd... Niklas Backstrom was destined to outplay Nabokov/Montoya no matter what San Jose did.

Nice to see Bryzgalov bounce back after that stinker against Chicago. Also:

VLADISLAV.

You can't stop him. You can't contain him. And once he develops his physical game, holy shit, watch out.

Outshoot the competition 1.75:1, blow a 3 goal lead in the 3rd period and fail to score in OT or the shootout... AWESOME! 6th place in the West, here I come!

Columbus: 100 seconds of NZT
Montreal: 90 seconds of NZT

I think it was pretty obvious who was going to win that game.

So then why did I lose to Vancouver on 11/29, who is playing a total of zero trapping lines? Lines haven't been touched since past GM resigned.

Trapping with them makes perfect sense. Turnovers + awesome = goals.
