Re: Tampa Bay - Calgary
Shit. Done Deal.
Hate to let go of my best player, but getting 7 different interesting assets gives me more options going into the future.
I feel like I've improved depth greatly while adding much needed physicallity to this soft Calgary Flames team.
We'll have to wait and see how all these young players turn out but given limited assets I feel that's a risk I have to take considering the big offer this crazy guy from TB came up with.
Would've liked to take some more time, considering different options but I'll stick with this.

Re: Tampa Bay - Calgary
BOOM!
Accepted.
Reasoning: This is probably the craziest deal I have ever been apart of in any EHM league, Julien is almost is as sick as I am. My original offer consisted of 3/5 players and 1 draft pick.....he wouldn't budge, so I had to empty the entire clip until he relented. Every single player on his way to Calgary was in TB's long term plans and was acquired to fill a specific need, very tough to lose them especially Stoa, Haka and Larrson. They will have long careers in EHEC and will be sorely missed, hopefully I can find players with as much tenacity, truculence and sandpaper as all these guys had.
However, with all that being said I feel a major factor in TB's Stanley Cup championship run 2 years ago was having such a dynamic duo down the middle in Stamkos/Lecav. While Malkin isn't quite at Lecav's defensive level, I feel his game-changing offensively abilities and some much need defense training could turn Malkin into a dominant player. Being able to build a team around two young superstar C's was something I felt very strongly about, the price I was willing to pay was whatever it took to get a deal done.
Julien, gl the rest of the way. You're going to have a team that will cause headaches and icebags for the Western Conference for years to come.
edit: The rest of the players I'm getting are AHL fodder, Julien asked for them to be included.

Reminds me of the Eric Lindros deal, but there's no goalie going Calgary's way. Quickly, throw in Dan Ellis!

Re: Tampa Bay - Calgary
Approved.
Let me explain this a little bit. First, Malkin is clearly a star player and Calgary has a lot of depth needs past having a superstar. The value of Malkin is inflated above what most players would be because his high POT does leave room for additional development. If that development happens as projected is a risk that TB is clearly willing to take at the expense of a lot of future potential.
There is a lot of development required of Hakanpaa, Larsson, Tinordi, and the 1st. With our sim schedule, this is an important factor to consider. Tinordi still has that horrible PE that has gotten him passed around like a case of crabs in Cabo on Spring Break.
MaxPac is in line for a serious raise based on our financial policy. That raise may cripple his value because it will make him a little overpaid as a player.
Another factor in this trade is that TB has plenty of draft picks to replace these players with. On some level, it makes what he's giving up inconsequential for Malkin, but those pieces will definitely help Calgary and that's what makes this trade acceptable.
