To Pittsburgh:
Adam Sykora (77)
Jaromir Pytlik (63)
Niilopekka Muhonen (71)
2028 COL 1st
To Colorado:
Nail Yakupov (72)
Evan Vierling (82)
Avs accept. This signals a major change for us moving on from some significant youth. We need offence and it doesn't get much better than Yak. I love Sykora overall, but the lack of hitting has limited him to my 4th line which is a sin, and expensive for that role. Pytlik is also pricing himself out with my current cap structure. Muhonen is expendable and we've gotten quite good at trading 1sts. Vierling is decent for 4C.

Re: PIT/COL
PIT agrees.
For salary reasons, some pieces from last year's team have to go. Having played half of last season without Yakupov anyway, and handling it pretty well, he was an obvious piece to move on from despite the talent level.
For a move that's primarily cap-motivated, this returns a couple of pretty useful players and a 1st round pick. Muhonen is a really solid young defensive D as well, an archetype we have quite a bit of, but also one that's always valuable.
