Hey look its me in the off season again. We made it to the 2nd round, I promised I wouldn't blow things up...buuuuuttttt....

Few things. Couturier for two years at a smidge under 3 gives me some great options. He's a legit C, something that we hurt a bit for, despite Matthews and Necas being great players. Likely he slots in at 2C, which while played honorably by Necas last year, is better for the team. It sets me up for a few other moves I have out there as well.

The cost is real as L'Heureux played great after coming over from DET and is only 23 and a few more RFA years. Surin was a late 1st boost, but I got him as just a boost-prospect, now he ACTUALLY boosted so WPG reaps those rewards. But you gotta pay to get, and the value of a legit C at some cost control is worth that.

Couturier is good, but old. Ultimately I got him for Kadri, who I got as a salary dump. Turning that into two younger players gives me more options. Despite the influx of prospects, I was relatively sparse on the wings.

I still have 15-16 mil in cap space so the retention is borderline irrelevant to me. I have a million picks so losing the worst 2nd I have doesn’t phase me much.
