Chicago ties Winnipeg 2-2 and in doing so fails to keep pace with Colorado, who win 6-4 over Vancouver. This leaves the Blackhawks with a single qualifying scenario, having to run the table while also needing the Avs to lose out.

In the east the Devils and Hurricanes stand pat, but the Leafs triumph over the Flyers 4-0 to vault over Jersey into 7th in the conference.
This leaves the 6th (Buffalo), 7th (Toronto), 8th (New Jersey), and 9th (Carolina) teams separated by just 1 point, with the 6 through 8 order decided by win totals. All 4 teams have 3 games remaining.

In other news, with 4 minutes remaining and down a goal Boston's Brett Leason decides to embrace the tank, and takes out Montreal's Jordan Eberle for two weeks; meanwhile Chicago's Denis Malgin is assessed a 10 minute misconduct for hooking, which makes me wish EHM had video replay.
