Granny is the top line type player I've been looking for. He'll slot in at 1 LW with Kessel for the upcoming year and is young enough to stick around while the young core comes up. Bonus points for the versatility of being able to play center, even if he isn't great at it. Olausson was brought in with the intention of later trading him for an upgraded version of himself. Ideally it would be a slightly younger player than 33 but Granlund is too good to pass. When you think about it, Granlund is kinda what you'd get if you fusion summoned the child of Olausson and Dube.

Getting younger, adding depth and gaining cap space is what I'm trying to accomplish this offseason with the Habs. Suck to trade Granlund, but this trade covers all bases.
