EHM doing some fun stuff tonight with two 4-0 shutouts. Only two home teams won (the geographically proximate NJ & PHI). BOS tied it up late with the goalie pulled then blew it in OT vs ANA, who gave up 9 goals last night but tightened up their D significantly.

Of course the highlight of the night is the Western Conference Finals rematch, which I was feeling unusually confident about. The first period starts off with Niko Huuhtanen scoring his first two career goals on his 2nd & 3rd career shots, both unassisted. Then Kenny Ryan scores a third unassisted goal before the period ends.

With Detroit fans restless, Nolan Allan comes out in the second shift of the second period and wounds Vladimir Tarasenko in the chest for a month. The ensuing powerplay leads to Kakko's first goal of the season (wtf dude?). That's it for the goal scoring, but the score settling isn't done as Cale Fleury gets vengeance by taking out Dylan Peterson in the ankle for a month as well. Both players get 5 game suspensions - fair is fair, eye for an eye (well more like a hand, but anyway). Also, Nolan Allan got beaten up three times, including by Cale Fleury in an all-out-brawl in the third, earning him two game misconducts (one for being part of the brawl and the second automatic for participating in three fights). Normally in those brawls 4/5 pairs of players fight and the fifth just get roughing calls but this time there was no roughing, so the 5th pair of - presumably - Josh Jacobs and Jimmy Snuggerud just chatted about the weather or whatever.
