Game 4 in OTT starts off with a fairly even first period, with Cody Hodgson potting his league-leading 13th for the only goal. Connor McDavid adds to the lead two minutes before the halfway mark of the game, but then JVR breaks a 12-game (really?) goalscoring drought to put the Wings on the board. The Wings' good feels are short-lived, as barely a minute later OEL widens the gap to two again, with Hodgon and McDavid picking up their third points of the night each.
A mere 12 seconds in to the third, William "Willy Wally" Wallinder snaps home what I presume is the first shot of the period (how often do defensemen take the puck off a faceoff win, gain the zone and just blast it??). Unfortunately for DET, they would only post two more shots (no goals) the rest of the period, while OTT scores two insurance markers in a span of 48 seconds later in the period (out of 12 shots). The game ends 5-2 and the series is now a best of 3 going back to Motor City.

Daws with 2 starts and 2 wins. Whitehead with 2 starts and 2 losses. Wonder who gets G5 for Detroit?
Meanwhile, Chet Pickard is out here showing his real life brother how to win in the Cup final.
