Carolina Hurricanes Interim Trade Block

Post by SharksGM »

Pretty much anyone is available, but as a soon-to-be-rebuilding team, youngsters will come at a premium.

Specials: Johnathan Diaby and Alexei Bereglazov. Both 99 HI, 63 CON, and 89/84DF respectively. Bereglazov's a bargain at 1M x 1y.

Pending UFAs are for sale and priced to move: Boychuk, Brizgala, Baldayev, Pitkanen, Rychel. Jank and Wilson will be re-signed and will not come cheap.

Carolina will consider trading down a few spots (not double digits). Send your best offers and I'll consider them when I wake up, but they'll need to be good.

Carolina has room to take on at least one cap dump, for a price proportional to the salary taken on, of course.

Alzner/Diaby available for the right price. Not giving them away for free.

Need cheap winger depth? Consider tossing a 4th for Gusev/Korostelev/Zharkov.

Carolina can also take some cap dumps if needed.

Carolina's GM decided to resign. Since they are 6 games below .500 (and yet only 3 points out of a playoff spot), the following expendable players are available (with no retention slots, so don't bother asking):

Carolina's still in limbo, but they will definitely consider moving one defenseman (if you particularly like any of them), Tom Wilson, and various spare forwards (Brink, Yan, Korostelev) for a fair return. They can also take on salary if you have a decent but overpaid vet.

Carolina's once again rudderless and slipping out of a playoff spot, so UFAs are available as rentals. OTB:

Paul Stastny (89 OF) - minimum 1st this year or next in return.
Kale Clague, Ryan Merkley - both 81/70 OFD; return negotiable.
Nikita Korostelev, Dennis Yan - late 2nd/early 3rd

Can retain on any of those guys.

Less likely to move, or "only if the price is right": Bohumil Jank, Steve Mason, Jonathan-Ismael Diaby

Also OTB: Lots of defencemen on the farm (not Silayev, obviously). Many project to be 3rd pair D given enough time. e.g. Aleksi Heimosalmi, Elias Salmonsson are just buried on the depth chart - give them a chance!

Stastny is gone but all of these guys are still available for the right price. Picks are welcome but (partly) developed prospects are preferred, value being equal. CAR has one retention slot and it will be used on whoever brings the best return.

Other players like Jank & Sutter are negotiable but the price will be very high.
