Detroit has started its rebuilding process by selecting Vladimir Tarasenko, RW, Novosibirsk in the first round. Vladimir projects to have great offense skills and a great skater. The only knock on Vladimir is his consistency. He plays great in stretches but disappears at other times. Detroit will have to try to get him to produce all of the time. In the second round Detroit selected Mirko Hoefflin and Nikita Gusev. Mirko should provide a strong two-way game and fit into a top 6 in the roster. The knock on Mirko would be his overall skating ability and him taking a ton of penalties. Nikita is another strong shooter with great skating ability. HE should provide another scorer to this team in the future. He also has a consistency issue but most feel he is a second liner and not a primary scorer. The third round saw the Red Wings select a pair of defenseman. Ricard Blidstrand and Tim Heed should provide some depth in the future at weak spot currently. Both need time to develop but should provide longevity in this league. They project to be great 3-6 defenseman in this league. Great find in the third round for Detroit.

Re: Detroit Free Press
The deadline was last night just before midnight, Tim. I'll give you +5 for each for the effort.
