Pens - Draft Review

Post by Penguin »

The Penguins were very pleased of their draft day in LA earlier this week. General Manager, Matt ''trade whore'' Bernier, had obviously traded away all the Penguins' draft picks already. But, before the draft, he acquired LA's 1st and LA's 2nd in the shocking deal involving Kopitar and Crosby. And, he shipped Matt Cooke and Blair Betts for another 2nd round pick, Boston's. So, the Penguins scouts hadn't worked for nothing after all. When LA's 1st round pick came up, they still had 4 prospects on their list that they wanted a lot, but none of them really stood out. Bernier then had a phone call from Atlanta, and a trade was announced. Pittsburgh had traded both of LA's picks, 1st and 2nd for Selke finalist, Colby Armstrong! Along Armstrong, came Atlanta's 2nd (#34), which almost guarenteed one of the prospects that Head Scout Ray Shero was proposing to select. And, it did when Pittsburgh selected from Blaine High school, Nick Bjugstad. Bjugstad is a big center that can hit and make plays. Questionning the fans here in Pittsburgh, they seemed to be pretty stoked about the kid. The team already needs a 2nd line center, but Bjugstad will have to surprise everyone to find himself there at the beginning of next year. For now, he is expected to join the Baby Pens in Wilkes-Barre and he'll have big minutes to develop. Now, with the other 2nd round pick, #58, the Pittsburgh Penguins ended up taking the russian bull from Saginaw, Ivan Telegin. Ivan is another big forward that can hit and make plays, and he plays winger. Bernier was very happy to add him to his ''hit everything that moves'' mentality. With their 6th round pick, they decided to take swedish winger Pontus Netterberg only because of his sick-ass name. Netterberg is planned to become a perennial AHLer in Wilkes-Barre. Finally, with their 7th round pick, Bernier ended up taking finnish goaltender Jonathan Iilathi for the one and only reason that his momma was one hot finnish milf in the stands!

I'm the worst writter ever. +10 Shooting/+10 Positioning to PONTUS NETTERBERG.

That sound you just heard was the breaking of Hodgson and Kadri's hearts.

Nice to know you follow my team! :) Hodgson and Kadri are both snipers so I got them on the wings. Hodgson will be playing on the 1st line with Kopitar and Iginla. I'm excited!!
