This why any changes need to be grandfathered in. The trades and contracts were made within the rules at the time and teams have been constructed with certain expectations. The real problem is that we used to allow 5+ year deals at league minimum and we've dealt with that issue, and we've now committed to keep the league minimum fixed for the next 3 seasons.
