Buffalo Sabres acquires: Tim Gleason (85)

Dallas Stars acquires: Chris Phillips (86), Greg McKegg (76), 3.round pick EDM 2015

Although Gleason has played very well for me, he has been 6-7 defensemen for me for most part of the season - so I made a decision to trade him, in order to make a space (and a spot) for this and the next season(s) and I still also have Ahnelov down there, so he'll be my 7th defenseman for now. McKegg and a third round pick 2015 is a good return for Gleason for me. Good luck Sabres!

I was looking for a third paring D-men to replace Phillips, who I wasn't going to resign during the off season. Gotsy move to trade my captain at this point in the season, but I have to take a chance. Not only do I fill my spot at d-men for next year, but I am also a better team with Gleason than with Phillips.

Gleason is a nice fit with his contract. McKegg is a good player but there was no place for him in the big club.
