Reasoning:
This set of moves gives me options for this off-season, with a bunch of players to re-sign. Salmivirta gives me a cheaper, younger version of Matt Stajan, gives me options for my 3rd line and clears a spot for a checking forward on Dallas's team. Moving Meszaros gives Dallas a PP quarterback and a decent 3rd-pairing dman, and gives me cap space and opens a spot back for Dominik Bittner/Derek Joslin in the lineup this season (and hopefully Nikita Zadorov next season, if all goes to plan). I wasn't sold on moving Abdelkader, but he adds depth to Dallas's top 6 if needed, can help his farm team win (and boost his rookies in the process) and was expendable come next season. I figured 4 mil for Meszaros was quite a bit to take on, so I threw in a 2015 pick for Dallas's troubles.

Agreed! this isnt my prototype deal....but I gain a Powerplay QB and getting someone younger for my defence core that is getting so old...Abdelkader i saw and figured for my team he would fit nice he is young and still has room to develop and was rotting on the farm team
