Really like what Shattenkirk can bring to the table, they both have almost the same offense, but Shattenkirk is a more complete D. I was lookind to a defenseman who can play on my top pairing with Johnson, Murphy CON, CK and PO was just not good enough for me to play him on my top pairing.

This move saves me 2.2M$. To me, the difference between Shattenkirk and Murphy's game isn't worth 2.2M$.
Ryan is only 20 years old and he still can grow as a player. I'm aware that Kevin is the better and most consistant of the two, but financially, he's somehow of a luxury at #4 on my depth chart.

Hugo had to give me some picks in order to land the best player.

I think that two 3rd round picks and 2.2M$ in cap space is a fair price to swap those guys.
