Detroit receives:
D Ricard Blidstrand (74)
Phoenix receives:
D Alex Grant (65)
I've had my eye on Grant for a couple seasons. He's a positional genius, throws solid hits, and he'll drop the gloves if necessary - solid blueline depth, with a bit of a price tag. With James looking to cut some payroll and my search for defensive upgrades, this was a natural fit. Grant is the more talented player overall, but Blidstrand enjoys a significant advantage in consistency, age, and perhaps most importantly in this scenario, cost-effectiveness. Best of luck in your return to the Red Wings organization, Mr. Blidstrand. Welcome aboard, Alex Grant. You'll fit right in.
Phoenix approves this deal. Great doing business with you as always, James.

yep Grant is a cap casualty and in his last year of his cheap contract. Should be too expensive for me next year. Blidstrand is young, cheap for 2 years and fits as my 6 th defensemen instead of Tim Heed

Approved.
Will be entered post-sim.
Parker gets a quality player with an escalating price tag, while James gets a nice, young, controllable player.
