Rangers sends:
Michael Del Zotto [60]
Paddy Marleau [66]
PIT 2nd 2013
Minnesota sends:
Tom Kuehnhackl [66]
NYR 1st 2012
MIN 1st 2013
WPG 1st 2013
Didn't want to lose any of my top D, but decided I could get the best return for MDZ, even though I'm left without a true #1 blueliner. Hard to pass up three first round picks, even if they don't get me into the top ten in tomorrow's draft! I get more bargaining position for future trades, or just use them and build up my depth. Kuehnhackl can still develop into a nice scorer, even if he won't set the world on fire. Marleau has played well for me, but the writing's been on the wall for a while now.
Good doing business with you, Chris.

A trade of this calibre needed to be made. I can bullshit my explanation to make it gucci and nice but plain and simple This team needs help on the blue line and leadership and we received the help needed to bolster our roster.
Thanks n good dealin pat

Re: NYR - MIN
Trade has been approved.
From the Rangers perspective the thought-process is pretty clear. Playoffs have not been kind to the club as constructed and dealing Del Zotto is a quick way to enact a face lift. We believe Kuehnhackl + MIN 1st 2013 at this instant is fair value for MDZ. Minnesota risks not improving enough and shipping off a top-10 pick. Pat makes Minnesota better through this trade. Chris still has a value in Yakupov coming his way.
Marleau/2nd 2013 PIT works for #20 (in 2012) and WPG's 1st 2013 (probably 30 anyway
). In a regular EHM league, draft picks hold more weight because they arrive rapidly. Minnesota, in EHEC, is looking at another miserable season (full calendar year) of playing Chimera and friends before he even gets to think of drafting again.
