Filppula and Streit were of great use offensively but both were soft forwards who I thought were overpaid and also were both signed for next season.
I have other plans than to play the fancy brand of hockey those guys bring to the table.
Richards is a solid two way center who brings a whole lot of leadership to this team who really lacks good leaders.
I also needed to open up a spot for the recent J.Huberdeau call up.
This trade made sense in so many ways.
Damn, sometimes I even amaze myself.
