While I agree with Parkers comments regarding other non-medalists gaining LE, I was trying to keep the proposed system as simple as possible in hopes of it being put into place. I also disagree with 4th liners/backups of medal winning teams not gaining any experience/LE. They are inside a locker room and on a team that accomplished a tremendous feat, just being around and witnessing firt hand what it takes to win would have a tremendous impact on a player imo.

I meant to do something for the WJC this year, but I was out of town when the game generated them and I wasn't about to leave it up to Tommy and Ryan.

Some changes will definitely be made for next year's tournament.

I generally like the idea of anything that involves more strategery and decidering, but in terms of realism is there really any evidence that WJC experience does much for prospects? Sure, lots of scouts and fans watch, but does it really have more of an impact than a Memorial Cup or any of the other major international tournaments throught the year?

From a development standpoint, I think it helps to play the best of the best in your age bracket. Certainly a player like Jason Zucker, in his third WJC and being the captain this year, gains some leadership qualities. It's not across the board, but there are certain players it benefits in that regard.

I don't know what I'll do in regards to the WJC, but I'll do some sort of incentive for sending your own players, whether they're on your NHL team or your AHL team.
