Reasoning:
I'm a feen for high hitting forwards. I had to take on Cleary's and Spacek's salaries to make the deal work salary wise. Winchester is an ideal 4th line center, but I have Peter Holland coming up soon so Winch became expandable. Brewer is a great leader/consistent/defensive stud and Tanguay is one of the best two-way players, but that was the price to pay. Noesen was a throw-in requested by Dallas.

My goal was to get better defensively, and this was a deal that I liked. I know I am getting older, but JVR was not the type of forward i was looking for. Tanguay is older but has the same offense with better defense. Brewer is an upgrade from Spacek who was inconsistent. Brewer will probably be my captain soon. I get a fourth line center, so I can waive Murray who should not even be in the NHL.
