Re: New Jersey - Tampa Bay
Well what can i say, i had to do this deal, i want to contend this year, Malkin will help that happen more than Seguin. I also realise Seguin will be the better player all around which is why i look after my future here as well, with what potentially could be 2 top 10 picks. Which i will either keep or deal to get some D to help make a push this season. We think this deal makes our intentions clear, we now see ourselves as contenders and this is a deal that puts us a lot closer to the cup right now.
Never did i imagine trading Seguin on my 2nd day here but this deal was to good to pass up, cheers to Justin who originally came looking for Tyler Biggs and ended up with the other Tyler

Accepted.
Reasoning: Easily the craziest 48 hours of my EHEC career. I originally approached the NJ GM about Tyler Biggs and was told he was looking to contend ASAP, so I floated the idea of him possibly moving Seguin. At first Raymond was against it, but it appears have multiple 1st round picks to throw at people is a valuable asset. This trade is a GIGANTIC gamble on my part, but I feel if you can't gamble on a player like Tyler Seguin then what can you? He is truly a special player.
Malkin is a great player, possesses a dominant OFF game while currently shoring up his DEF game. However, he will always lack a real physical presence on the ice. Seguin will be an elite offensive talent that could possibly be tops in the EHEC one day, while still possessing enough of an edge to play a Hit and Grind role which is something I didn't see Malkin or Stamkos fitting into. The two 1st's are going to land great players as well, but I feel they won't be anywhere near the level of Seguin especially if VAN gets a GM.
It hurts to risk pulling a "Burke-esque" move like he did with Kessel and two 1sts, but still having 4 of them left over softens the blow. Bottom line, I said my reasoning for making the Malkin deal was that I felt a Malkin-Stamkos duo could rival any team in the EHEC. A Seguin-Stamkos duo will be unstoppable.
