Columbus-Montreal

Post by Virtual Jarmo »

Real-life prop bet based on Kevin Bieksa signing a contract with the Vancouver Canucks by 11:59 PST on July 1.

If he signs, Montreal receives Columbus's 5th round pick in the 2012 EHEC Draft
When he doesn't sign, Columbus receives Montreal's 5th round pick in the 2012 EHEC Draft.

Bieksa must sign with the Canucks by the end of July 1 in the Pacific Time Zone.

Reasoning: Chance for me to extort a free draft pick because Kevin Bieksa is going to get greedy and test out the market after having a strong playoff year. He may still re-sign with Vancouver, but not before free agency begins.

Columbus accepts.

Bieksa bleeds blue and green.

Montreal accepts this friendly little bet.

Moron. Always find out how much greener the grass is on the other side. Though, when it comes to grass, Vancouver might have the greenest.

Congrats Brad. I hope the AHL 2nd liner you receive in this deal serves you well.

Woohooo!

With 4 days left to spare as well. That 2nd line farm C better rip it up.

We should have put a stipulation in there that the guy whose pick it is gets to make the pick for you and you're stuck with whoever they take.

Or you have to take the most awesome name in the draft. If it were a 2011 pick, I'd vote for Destry Straight, Mans Kruger, Oula Palve, or Barclay Goodrow. (Although Ildar Isangulov does sound like something out of Tolkien.) Come to think of it, maybe that's how I'll spend my 6th and 7th rounders this year.

ah, this thread is definitely taking a femur-ish (femarian?) tack; my favorites are Magnus "Hell Boy" Hellburg...i wish i had named a son that, or because there can be only one winner: Jyrki Jokipakka. in honor of Jyrki, here are the Yerky Boys:
