Reasoning: It seems every is cash strapped in EHEC land so finding a new home for Big Z turned out to be quite a challenge. I obv gave up ALOT more to get Zdeno, but that was two years ago so lowering my expectations on his return I think this is a good deal. Getting someone with 99 HIT is nice, especially after losing Paul Ranger. Along with the added physical presence to my bottom 6, I'm now heavily invested in next years draft (and beyond) and can use the draft picks to make another run at Stanley next year or go in a different direction depending on how the regular season goes.

This is a big price for me to pay, I had quite a bit of cap room, that now is going to be squeezed up by big Z, but I think it's an important move. Defense and goaltending win championships, and my defense was nowhere near as good as I envisioned it to be. Adding Big Z now gives me a very solid top 4 in my mind with him, Paul Martin, Nemeth, and Wizzy. Smaby is a solid #5 guy as well, with Jonsson rounding out the top 6.
