This is a prospect ranking for the Winnipeg Jets. To still qualify as a prospect the player must be under 24 years old and not have played in 25 games last season, or presently no more than 50 NHL games.
Notable disqualified players: Nolan Patrick, Alex Formention, Kristians Rubins
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Peyton Krebs - C/LW - 5'11 - 19.0 YO - 13th OA 2019
With 31 points in 34 games for the St. John's Ice Caps so far this year, Krebs is quickly becoming a leader for the team at a very young age. Touting excellent two-way skills, Krebs has shown excellent progress in playing a consistent and complete 200-foot game. While he has room to grow in all areas of the game, Krebs's primary focus remains improving his physical fitness in hopes it translates to greater results down the line.
Current Skill Level: Bottom 6 Winger
Projected Ceiling: Top 6 Passing Plays Center, 1 PP Unit, 2nd PK unit
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Cam York - D - 5'11 - 19.1 YO - 14th OA 2019
While York has struggled at times, there's plenty of upside to York's game. He can be an elusive skater when exiting and entering the zone and is strong for his age. Ultimately he lacks the physical mentality to play a heavier game but looks to become a strong two-way threat with great positioning and great skating ability to make up for some of his other deficiencies.
Current Skill Level: Top Pairing AHL Defender
Projected Ceiling: #2/3 Passing Plays Defender, 2nd PP Unit, 2nd PK Unit.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Daniel Vladar - G - 6'6 - 22.6 YO - 59th OA 2015
At 49 games played with a mild 0.870 SV %, Vladar just slides under the qualification bar in terms of games played. However, with the Jets organization, he has maintained a 0.898 sv% split between the NHL and AHL and has been a consistent bright spot for the Ice Caps during their troubling season. Vladar has little left to prove at the AHL level so look for him to be next in line should the NHL squad need a netminder.
Current Skill Level: Backup Goalie
Projected Ceiling: 1B Goalie
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Nate Schnarr - C/RW - 6'3 - 20.7 YO - 45th OA 2017
With a nice 69 points in 57 games so far, Schnarr is leading the team in points. At 6'3 he also one of more physical players for the team, although it is evident there a bit more room for him to pack on some additional muscle. While not the most offensively gifted, Schnarr consistently outworks the opposition, despite what his glaring +/- might indicate.
Current Skill Level: 13th Forward
Projected Ceiling: Middle 6 Winger/Bottom 6 Center,
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Griffin Mendel - D - 6'4 - 21.0 YO - 101st OA 2017
God help him when he touches the puck, but God help you if you are. Mendal is a stay at home defender to his core with the build to show it. While he has little in the way of offensive instincts, he has some good defensive awareness and is developing one of the hardest hits in the organization. He can be a beast.
Current Skill Level: #4 AHL stay at home dman
Projected Ceiling: #6 Stay at home defender,
Winnipeg Jets, Top New Fighters
