NYR 3 - TOR 5 ... Toronto leads series 3-2
DET 1 - BOS 5 ... Boston wins series 4-1
PIT 3 - CBS 4 ... Columbus leads series 3-2
OTT 6 - TB 3 ... Ottawa leads series 3-2

World championships: Canada loses 6-3 to Sweden. Ouch.

Boston is the first team in the East to cruise to the semi-finals, unceremoniously dumping the division-leading Red Wings in 5. Fucale is the difference in an OT thriller in Pittsburgh, with Cristoval "Boo" Nieves the first-shot-on-goal hero. The other two games in previously tied series are surprisingly one-sided affairs, with the rudderless Senators the only team to retain home-ice advantage.

Good series, Detroit. Best of luck next year.
