Nice to see the 3rd line carry a game like that, and Vasilevski bounce back in a back-to-back situation... back. Erik Cole with a 4-game goal streak is impressive, considering he only had 2 goals before that. Now he's offsetting Ryane Clowe's impressive 20-game goalless streak. Good thing I didn't panic and trade any of those guys who scored. Even Derek Forbort's rounding back into #1 defenseman form.

Of course I didn't make up any ground in the division but that's the Pacific deathtrap for you.

First of hopefully many for Brendan Gaunce. Should have played Binnington. Wasn't going to win that b2b.

You would think with all the "depth" the Habs have, they wouldnt be able to lose. Oh how the mighty are falling.

trades away all good defensemen

surprised at team sucking

Oh, and Kreps - Holland - Nokelainen, that sounds like a goddamn brunch menu not a third line.

I haven't traded away any good defensemen. This is pretty darn close to the same team that took PIT to the ECF (and was the only team to defeat PIT in the playoffs).

Plus, hard to blame the defense when the team is usually #1 or #2 in GF and right now they are sitting 2nd last in the East in GF.

It's not my normal third line, was just throwing shit at the wall, but still, even with that 3rd line, team is miles better than Toronto.

Worry about yourself.

You're an idiot STL. Time and time again that has to be drilled into your head. Sorry, no matter how many times you bring it up, Spooner is NOT a top line player and yes pot boosts exist.

One thing I'm noticing is that the top teams aren't getting any better because of cap restrictions, but the bottom teams are improving quickly as their blue chip prospects are beginning to become solid contributors. It doesn't matter if your team is just as good as last year's if all of the weak-sister opponents you used to beat on aren't as weak as they used to be.

But yeah Brad, your defense is awesome, and I can't imagine why you wouldn't be leading the league in goalscoring when you roll two NZT and two D&C lines.

Which, on one hand, is good. On another hand, the GMs of competitive teams seem to be dealing with some detachment because they're not much they can do other than shuffle the cards and wind up with the same hand.

We've brought the bottom up and increased parity. That helps the overall strength of the league, especially in keeping GMs on mediocre-to-bad teams around.

But I'll be the first to admit that it's not as fun as it used to be. I've over-restricted the game so much that there's very little freedom. It's part of the reason why I haven't evaluated trades as closely because it's about the only freedom that GMs have left, so I leave them to their own devices.

I'll have to open things back up in the offseason. Whether that's relaxing line restrictions and buyout penalties or increasing the salary cap, I'll have to do something to keep things fresh.

I would tend to disagree with the bottom teams improving quickly, if you look at the playoff picture, for the most part it's the same teams that are in right now that have been in the playoffs for the past 2-3 seasons. Couple of small differences, I think DET+CHI is out in the West right now (I would be surprised if ended that way), and of course the Habs are as good as a Junior-A team right now.

Well, Savard (27 GP 30 Pts ) Pavelski (27 GP 22 Pts) Hemsky ( 27 GP 25 Pts)
And then Spooner ( 25 GP 24 Pts).....So my "not a top line player" is pretty much just as good if not BETTER then 2/3rds of your top line. Damn good thing you have alot of depth. Pretty bad when one of my Dmen have they same amount of Pts as one of your 1st liners, almost 2 of em. Also with a better FA % and SH %.......hmmm maybe you should look at stats before flapping your gums there Gumby.

I'm glad all you can wrap your head around is stats. It's a good thing EHM doesn't follow your logic.

Plus, on a weak team, someone has to score.

You think if I flopped Spooner with Hemsky, Savard, or Pavelski he would put up anywhere close to the points they do?

Can someone else help this guy see the light.....my patience is running thing.....

Colby Cohen is almost identical to Nemeth there skip. 57/83 and 78 CON, 86 PLY, compared to Nemeth is 60/88 with 84 CON.

Speaking of which, pretty ridiculous how Nemeth only gets $2.85M. I guess he was only projected to make $4-5M as a Hab.

Well first off, player without good stats, dont go anywhere in any sport there Gumby. 2nd off, i see the light and there isnt much "depth" to it. At least not thru the red, white and blue glasses......

So if I played a guy who had attributes of 45/45 on my top line with Savard & Hemsky and he had more points than Savard or Hemsky at the end of the year, would you consider him a better player than them?

Hahaha you got played by Justin so hard. Good fucking job trading your best defenseman without putting him on the block or calculating his salary first.

You know how much Nemeth would be earning on the Habs? If your guess is not 'exactly the same amount' then you need to start working on your crippling paranoia.

I was told multiple times by the commitee that he would be making close to $5M.

But still, Justin paid a very large large sum to get Nemeth. Without moving Nemeth I wouldn't have Pavelski, or Holland.

Spooners attributes are a lot better then 45/45.....sometimes I think you really like playing the idiot around here.....there is most times that I don't think you are actually "playing".

You're considering Spooner better because he has close to the point totals of 3 players you mentioned, yet his attributes are far, far off of theirs, so the comparison was legit.
