Six games on the docket tonight, with mostly low-scoring affairs. It looks like another strong team in Raleigh as the Hurricanes shut out the Wings. New Jersey manages just 10 even strength shots against the Isles, and comes up empty on nine power play tries but still manages to pull out a close win. Pascal Leclaire outduels Ryan Miller for the auto'ed Senators. Calgary spoils the Jackets' home opener with a solid defensive performance and a sizable shot differential. For the Jets, Jack Campbell is the difference against what should've been a tired Kings team, as he stops 24 of 25 power play shots by the visitors. Finally, J.T. Miller is the evening's hero for the Avalanche, scoring the game winner and helping on two other goals.

Some crazy AHL scores too. Abbotsford's Alex Khokhlachev now has ten points in two games.

Geez, have people been neglecting their AHL teams that badly? Three teams scoring 9+ goals each?
