1. What was your least favourite subject in high school?

2. Any current guilty-pleasures, music wise?

3. Do you agree with Ambrose Bierce's definition of Liberty - "Liberty, n. One of imagination's most precious possessions." (and why not?)

4. Drivers v. Cyclists v. Pedestrians. Who's got the biggest idiots on the road?

5. In the unlikely scenario where you're presented with the choice, would you rather drown or burn to death? [s](All responses will be kept on file for when the time comes.)[/s]

6. Of the six teams still vying for the last three spots in the West, who d'yer like?

1. What was your least favourite subject in high school?

Math. Embarrassed myself at it everyday. Failed the first semester of Honors Algebra 2.

2. Any current guilty-pleasures, music wise?

Plenty of country music. Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert come to mind.

3. Do you agree with Ambrose Bierce's definition of Liberty - "Liberty, n. One of imagination's most precious possessions." (and why not?)

Agree to a point. The freedom to believe what you want to believe, even if it's ridiculously wrong, is a special thing to have. I don't think liberty is solely imaginative, though. There are plenty of liberties that are 100% literal.

4. Drivers v. Cyclists v. Pedestrians. Who's got the biggest idiots on the road?

Drivers. Tons of people can't drive. Cell phones make it 100x worse. Cyclists irritate me because they don't use sidewalks. That's what they're there for.

5. In the unlikely scenario where you're presented with the choice, would you rather drown or burn to death? [s](All responses will be kept on file for when the time comes.)[/s]

Drown. I guess. Neither one sounds very appealing.

6. Of the six teams still vying for the last three spots in the West, who d'yer like?

Colorado and LA. The most balanced of the teams and the hottest goaltenders entering the stretch run. Mike Smith's running out of gas for PHX. SJ has zero depth. CGY just isn't a good team.

1. What was your least favourite subject in high school?

I couldn't stand the memorization in biology so I never took it after science split up into bio, chem & physics.

2. Any current guilty-pleasures, music wise?

Uh... I listened to this Junior Boys song a lot a while ago and I'm not a huge fan.

3. Do you agree with Ambrose Bierce's definition of Liberty - "Liberty, n. One of imagination's most precious possessions." (and why not?)

Well, at first I thought it was implying that liberty is a figment of one's imagination, as in that it doesn't really exist. I looked him up and the first thing I found was some turd writing about how Bierce tore down socialism or something. Since I still don't know much about Bierce other than he was apparently cynical and nihilistic following his experience in the Civil War, I don't know how to interpret his intent with the quote at all. Ironically I found a collection of his letters on google books self-entitled 'A Much Misunderstood Man'.

So having no clue what he meant with it, I'll just say that I hope free will isn't an illusion, that liberty is worthwhile and not entirely imaginary but that a functioning human society must impose limits on it. Sorry, anarchists.

4. Drivers v. Cyclists v. Pedestrians. Who's got the biggest idiots on the road?

Pedestrians seem to have the weakest instincts of self-preservation. Drivers are controlling a few tons of metal travelling up to 130 km/h so their stupidity gets amplified more.

Since I don't drive, I'm going to angrily rage at Adam and any other driver who thinks cyclists should stay on sidewalks (which is more dangerous to pedestrians than cycling on the road is for cyclists), especially in the jurisdictions in North America that don't allow cycling on the sidewalk, and that's a lot of them.

5. In the unlikely scenario where you're presented with the choice, would you rather drown or burn to death? [s](All responses will be kept on file for when the time comes.)[/s]

Drowning sounds less painful. Plus you might end up suffocating if you burn to death anyways.

6. Of the six teams still vying for the last three spots in the West, who d'yer like?[/quote]

I don't watch much Western Conference hockey, but Colorado seems to be doing well against Vancouver tonight and LA seems to be on a hot streak (8-2 in their last 10) - finally playing up to their potential?

San Jose is choking it up early, I don't care for Phoenix in general and Calgary is just awful. Uh, who's #6? Chicago? Odds are pretty slim that they'll lose their spot.

1. What was your least favourite subject in high school?

i was not inspired by English Composition

2. Any current guilty-pleasures, music wise?

fun. "We Are Young" hard to be a man and play this on the jukebox in front of your friends, but a good tune never-the-less

3. Do you agree with Ambrose Bierce's definition of Liberty - "Liberty, n. One of imagination's most precious possessions." (and why not?)

Rousseau said, "Man is born free, and everywhere he is in chains." being unsuccessfully married, i can tell you no concept of Liberty has ever hit the nail so precisely as ole Rousseau (i think he was also a heck of a winger with the North Stars in '74 i believe)

4. Drivers v. Cyclists v. Pedestrians. Who's got the biggest idiots on the road?

Douglas Adams talked about the moral superiority that only cyclist can exhibit; seeing as he was a cyclist himself, i will take his word for it and go with that.

5. In the unlikely scenario where you're presented with the choice, would you rather drown or burn to death? [s](All responses will be kept on file for when the time comes.)[/s]

drowning seems (slightly) more peaceful...good enough

6. Of the six teams still vying for the last three spots in the West, who d'yer like?

1. What was your least favourite subject in high school?

Pre-Calculus

2. Any current guilty-pleasures, music wise?

No. I don't feel guilty about any of it. :)

3. Do you agree with Ambrose Bierce's definition of Liberty - "Liberty, n. One of imagination's most precious possessions." (and why not?)

From his "Devil's Dictionary," here's the rest of the entry for 'liberty':
The rising People, hot and out of breath,
Roared around the palace: "Liberty or death!"
"If death will do," the King said, "let me reign;
You'll have, I'm sure, no reason to complain."

So, yeah, along with "patriotism," one of the imagination's most precious possessions.

4. Drivers v. Cyclists v. Pedestrians. Who's got the biggest idiots on the road?

All three categories are idiots, but I'll go with the idiots with the most weight behind them. So drivers it is.

5. In the unlikely scenario where you're presented with the choice, would you rather drown or burn to death? [s](All responses will be kept on file for when the time comes.)[/s]

Erg. Drowning. Seems less painful.

6. Of the six teams still vying for the last three spots in the West, who d'yer like?

This is finally the year for the Golden Seals.
