Of course not. But it's still homoerotic to watch. Nearly naked men in skintight clothing rolling around with each other. Mounting another guy? Defending yourself by essentially putting your opponent's head in your crotch?
Come on. I don't care if they beat the shit out of each other or not. I don't care if any one of them could beat me to death with their pinky finger.
It's gay porn for people addicted to violence.

It's also the fastest growing sport/spectacle on earth and has been for a number of years, so I'm not sure what that says for the state of mankind re: addiction to gayporn/violence.....
Diaz GSP is gonna be off the hook. Penn just isn't the same since the beating GSP gave him. I love BJ but god damn you can't lay on the fence and let Diaz tee-off like that.
Being a proud montrealer and GSP fan, I'm more nervous about this upcoming fight then ever before. Diaz has got great striking, bjj and cardio.
If the Super Bowl card has that fight and the Silva Sonnen rematch... wow...
Great to see Nick get some exposure after a long career in the shadows, he really is a likeable/entertaining guy when you get to know him. My first PPV was UFC 57, first fight on that card was Diaz vs Riggs. He's been my fav fighter (although GSP is tops as well obv being Canadian) since, it's cool to have followed him so closely all the way from fighting on Showtime cards against nobodies to the UFC WW belt.
Won't say he's gonna go out and finish GSP, but pretty lol'able the things GSP was saying after the fight. Picking a fight with Nick Diaz?
When did BJ Penn lay on top of Nick Diaz or vice vera? Also when they are "laying" on top of them, they are also trying to knock their ass out.
As an example, say you or hey a buddy is in a real fight, and he gets the guy on the ground, so he just stand up and walk away? Or be standing over him and beatin the shit out of him?

You're not going to change my opinion and I'm not going to change yours. Classic discussion.
Nothing else to see/say here and will let this thread die gracefully.

All sports arose as expression of a suppressed hunting instincts and/or sexual frustration, the latent (homo)sexuality of one or another is a moot point, and behaviours such as standards of dress and pageantry to butt patting, tackling, physical/emotional domination, sweating muscular flesh rubbing against other sweating muscular fresh in mock-copulative holds and all that other truly entertaining stuff are better left largely unexamined for their effect in the either blue-balled or elated viewer.

Be careful what you wish for Georges.
Shit why is it Georges who should be careful? Diaz called him out! He's the champ and in my opinion hasn't lost a round in 5-6 title defenses. I think Diaz is a little overrated. He's beat up on scrubs while GSP always fights the top opponent in the class. GSP is gonna outclass Diaz just like he does all his opponents.
Ive watched every GSP UFC fight and some of his early TKO fights in Montreal, Ive watched every Nick Diaz UFC, Dream, Strikeforce and ProElite fight. If you think GSP is just gonna keep Diaz at the end of his jab all night ur crazy, Nick has the best standup in MMA. I dont think GSP can lay on Diaz either for 25 minutes, Diaz can threaten enough with sweeps and sub attempts from bottom to make GSP think twice about going for a takedown.
Stylistically is a horrible matchup for GSP. Hes fighting a guy who's bigger, tougher, longer, technically better standup and BJJ. Sig bet on fight MTL?
GSP will not lose to Nick Diaz. GSP has the absolute best wrestling in MMA, and has the best timed takedowns in MMA. Nick Diaz has good boxing yes, but absolutely no power behind his punches. BJ Penn had his arms down just taking punches to the face and didn't even begin to wobble. GSP has taken punches from guys like Hardy, Koscheck, Penn, and Alves that punch as hard if not harder than Diaz.
Let's look at each fighter's resume (dating as far as back as of 2007 when GSP first beat Koscheck):
GSP has absolutely destroyed these fighters:
Josh Koscheck (twice)
Matt Hughes
Matt Serra
Jon Fitch
BJ Penn
Thiago Alves
Dan Hardy
Jake Shields (said to have best ground-game in MMA)
Nick Diaz has beaten these guys:
Mike Aina
Katsuya Inoue
Muhsin Corbbrey
Thomas Denny
Frank Shamrock
Scott Smith
Marius Žaromskis
Hayato Sakurai
KJ Noons
Evangelista Santos
Paul Daley
BJ Penn
With the exception to Frank Shamrock, BJ Penn, and maybe Paul Daley, the rest of those guys could walk into any public place and nobody would know who in the blue hell they are. Diaz also has a loss to KJ Noons in that timeframe. Diaz is good, but he's not on GSP's level and it will be proven come February (which I'm also in Vegas for the fight).
Diaz has the better stand-up than GSP but so has every other fighter GSP has faced thus far. It's not going to matter, GSP will take him down and end up winning a decision.
It would be great for the WW division if Diaz won, but it's not going to happen. I'm not huge GSP fan by any means either it's just fact. I was honestly a bit bummed out that they put this fight and not Anderson-Sonnen 2 on the SB weekend card since I already know the outcome of GSP/Diaz.
First, since when did public recognition determine the skill level of a fighter? Yes, GSP has beat more "name' fighters but that's because he's been fighting in the UFC for longer while Diaz has been in and out of the big show (because of his manager, not talent level). All those guys you mentioned have hype built up from the UFC, Hardy and Serra are lol'able even though Serra put a beatdown on GSP once. Fitch, Hughes, and Shields there was never any danger in George getting hurt in those fights. Imo, you not only look at WHO won but HOW they won. GSP has avoided trouble by getting on top and riding out fights, Nick will not be letting him do that come February.
Smith, Cyborg, Shamrock and Daley are all KO artists. Some of them fighting a whole weight class above Diaz's, he still went in there, stood right in the pocket and finished all those guys standing up in exciting/dominant fashion. He's retired two legends now (Shamrock/Penn although BJ will come back) and has ran through the majority of his opponents with slick submissions or viscous KO's. I'm not going to come out and say 'oh Diaz wins this easy' but I feel it'll be back and forth early with GSP landing some takesdowns/GNP but come the later championship rounds the momentum will turn to Diaz's side and you'll see him finish GSP late.
It's not going to happen, simple as that. GSP would knock out any of those guys that Diaz has beat. Can't say the same for the guys that GSP has faced compared to Diaz. Fitch would probably beat Diaz.

lol, 40% of GSP wins by desc. 20% only for Diaz.
Sig bet, winner designs losers for a month.
edit: Diaz would whoop that ass if he fought Fitch.
