New rulebook

Post by Virtual Jarmo »

I swear to god you're going to need a PhD to read this damn thing. I apologize, but I don't know what else to do. EHM is so limited and I want to make this league as realistic as I can.

It's not quite done yet, but I'm going to try and simplify it as much as I can with a thread on the boards once I post it.

It'll be in .pdf format with a table of contents so you can jump right to the page you need. I hope. I've never made a .pdf before. Right now, it's a Word document, so when the formatting and spacing gets fucked up transferring it to a .pdf, I will probably hang myself.

Just giving you guys a heads up. Again, I'll be as simple as I can in explaining things on the boards using examples.

Boys, our new rulebook is up and posted. http://www.ehechockey.com/EHEC_Rulebook.pdf

You will need Adobe Reader because it is a .pdf format. For IE, the rulebook will open in a new window. For Firefox, the link will ask if you want to download the file. Just click Open. You do not need to save it. For Google Chrome, it will open in another tab. It's not nearly as user-friendly as the other two browsers because it reads continuously up and down. For the other browsers, you can go straight to pages and read side-to-side.

Right now, I'm going the hell to bed. There are several rule changes that I will likely need to elaborate on. But, we are officially high-tech with a PDF Rulebook. It's only 26 pages and 6,671 words. Y'all can thank me later for making it as user-friendly as I could.

The financial policies, retirement systems, and some other assorted things are in easier-to read tables.

Make sure you all read the new rulebook. It has all sorts of rule changes.

Next up: The Draft Class!

My work is never ending.

Looks great, Adam. One question I had though - does this mean the salary cap will stay at $56,000,000 for the 11/12 season?

I had to put something in there. The number has not been decided yet. I need to start looking at some teams for next year and determine from there.

Based on my team, I calculated 18 skaters (not including Niedermayer) at $53+M. Not saying that I'm basing it for my convenience, just trying to go through my thought process in determining a number.

We can assume it won't go down. But any increase will be minimal at best. Just because I made a stricter financial policy doesn't mean that I'll just increase the cap a couple million. What's the fun in that?

Agreed - the lower the better, for me, at least.

Works for me.

I had some more questions about the financial policies and I just decided I wouldn't be lazy, so I'll go post them in the appropriate thread.

I was just desperately looking for some way to break up all the text. That seemed the easiest.
