Dick Winters, the man who served in the 101st Airborne Easy Company Division in WWII, died on January 2. For those of you who haven't seen the Band of Brothers miniseries, it is far and away one of the most amazing documentaries you will ever see.
I won't say it's hard to believe how few WWII vets are still around, but the greatest generation in the history of the United States is really dwindling down to a small number.
RIP Dick Winters. You're with all your brothers now who never made it back.

I watch the series pretty much every month if I can. True hero, and I like that quote of his. When his grand kid asked him if he was a hero, he said "No, but I served in a company of heroes.".
