Defender Mark Alt will develop to 71/86/79 when he gets his POT boost. Of course, if he doesn't get the boost he'll turn out around 62/75/71 and will look like a pretty lousy pick at 20th overall. With an 86 CON though, I'm very optimistic.

Re: Draft Chatter
D Bogdan Kiselevich with a jump should develop to 83/81/81 CH/PO/HI. Even without the jump he's still a serviceable 3rd pair or extra guy with a 70 or 71 DF. His con is 78, so it's much more iffy that he will jump, but fingers crossed...
Re: Draft Chatter
Kiselevich's hitting ceiling lowers to 90 as he is 6'0 tall. Gotta remember that one, Bub!Bub(NYR) wrote:D Bogdan Kiselevich with a jump should develop to 83/81/81 CH/PO/HI. Hitting ceiling
6'2 and taller: ceiling is fine
6'0 - 6'1: ceiling drops to 90
5'10 - 5'11: ceiling drops to 80
5'9 and smaller: ceiling drops to 70

Re: Draft Chatter
I just hope there aren't too many guys that POT boost. I don't know how many I put in there overall, but I wanted to try to replicate the risk-reward of the real draft. If everyone's a reward, I'll be pretty disappointed in how it turned out.

I almost took him at #58! Surprised he fell at #73.Tampa Bay GM wrote:Who has pot boosters and has simmed ahead to see how often they get them? So far 2/3 get them for me (Larsson/Hakaanpa) a decent amount of the time, i forgot that goalies can't get them. I thought I would of ranked Larsson as the better of the two, but Jani Hakanpaa could turn into a absolute monster. I really got give props to Burke on a sick draft class. There was a good balance of high pot/low con and low pot/high con players which allows for the randomness factor in boosts/drops to take affect in-game without touching the gamefile.
so post ur biggest pot booster brag w/ stats if you want, mine would b:
D Jani Hakanpaa 2/3 through 2013/14 season: 67 SHT/74 PM/70 SH/78 CHK/84 POS/79 HIT
all still growing green except shooting =)
Re: Draft Chatter
Dominik Bittner is my only draftee that has any shot at boosting (67POT/78CON). If he does, he could be an okay third pairing guy (64OF/71DF) with his pretty decent offense making up for his 55CH; but if he doesn't boost, he's be AHL fodder (56OF/62DF).

Re: Draft Chatter
Don't feel bad at all. FIrst off there appeared to be around the same number of high POT/low CON drafees's so some GM's will get a ugly little surprise when there a few POT drops to balance out the boosts. It doesn't matter if you sign them to a contract or not iirc, however the chances of them happening with 60-69 CON players is a lot lower then 60> guys. This was just a good year to have either a top 5 pick, or lots of picks in the late 2nd to 3rd round. Some guys went with safe picks, which is probably the best choice if you only had 1 pick per round but others with more could take the chance on a few boosters. The ones you created probably have a higher CON on average then EHM would of created so that will increase the frequency of the boosts probably but I had some gamefiles where I went 0/3 with Larsson/Hakanpaa/Nordstrom.Commissioner (CBJ) wrote:I just hope there aren't too many guys that POT boost. Re: Draft Chatter
I didn't get any boosters but I got 2 decent steals in the 4th with Gogolev at #93 and Lof at #114. Overall pretty happy with the draft and have to give the staff props on all their hard work.

If I just got the best d-men in the game in 3 years I'd be pretty happy to lolDevilsGM wrote:I didn't get any boosters but I got 2 decent steals in the 4th with Gogolev at #93 and Lof at #114. Overall pretty happy with the draft and have to give the staff props on all their hard work.

Re: Draft Chatter
Well yea true enough, easy to say I'm happy with the draft when i had 2 or the top 3 picks. Not to mention turned some 1st's into another awesome player in Kovalchuk, so yea I guess it was an ok draft.

Re: Draft Chatter
Now comes the answer to the question on everybody's mind since this draft started - who will go last overall?

Re: Draft Chatter
The file is updated with the draft class inputted. Please check your team and see if I got everything right.
I will update you guys with a sim schedule here shortly. Plan on at least a day or two to get everything in order before simming.
I also have a couple rule changes to announce over the coming days.

All good on my end. Thanks for the effort, I had an enjoyable draft even without a first round pick.Commissioner (CBJ) wrote:The file is updated with the draft class inputted. Please check your team and see if I got everything right.
I haven't seen a single bust in any sim ahead except with Toffoli before his weight was changed. Meanwhile the chance of pot boosting seems to be nearly 50%. I'm pretty sure every GM noticed this as the few high-pot low-con guys got picked much later than they should have been based on talent alone. So if there is a lesson here it's that pot boosters should be rarer or have lower ceilings or both, assumig we don't want dozens of them boosting every draft.Tampa Bay GM wrote:Don't feel bad at all. For that matter I don't really understand the discussion a page back about fiddling with sim dates/contract consideration times to make sure every single pot booster gets a chance at boosting this year. How does it make sense for a prospect to suddenly get better 4 whole days after being drafted? Especially when people are describing them as 'projects' - those type of players don't turn out literally a week after being drafted.
