2018 EHEC Entry Draft
The file is updated, the prospects are in and we're ready to go. 7 PM EST, Friday July 13 is the start time. Be there or be square. The appropriate forums and threads will be posted shortly.
Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
I created the forums but only entered the order for the 1st round.
This thread has been changed to a global announcement so don't worry if it pops up in every forum.
Don't forget the time limits for making your picks in each round and that once you get an auto-pick you are being auto'd until you come back to tell us otherwise.
This thread will be used for general draft chatter so please do not post in the rounds threads other than for making actual picks.
We've been able, in past years, to complete the draft within 16-17 days and I'm hoping this one doesn't drag on forever as well.
Beer has been good so far this summer but now it's back to work for all my fellas here at the EHEC.

The Blues are excited to round out their D-core in the coming hours.

Speaking of which: auto picks will go by this list. Orphan teams will not get goalies - that would be cruel.DevilsGM wrote: ↑Fri Jul 13, 2018 12:12 pm Draft sheet for anyone wanting to use it still

If you know that you're not going to be around to make a pick, send a list to myself and Julien.
Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
Two ok goalie specs. Couple low end backups as well. Based on what I have heard when talking to people they won't likely be picked up until mid 2nd round

Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
So uh I just noticed that I forgot to change Wahlstrom's strength from 28, which is slightly absurdly low for a 6'1 207lb 18 year old. Does anyone object to changing it to 68 before he's selected?
Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
Vitali Kravtsov should probably have his SR raised too then, maybe not to 68 but to like 50 or something.

Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
Riiight. Okay, I'll give him a *picks sensible number out of hat* 53 then. Sorry for the inconvenience. I updated the file on the site (not in the zipped save) and both numbers on the spreadsheet.
Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
Btw, the future values calculation on your spreadsheet doesn't take into account height limitation on hitting ability.

Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
Not sure what I was looking at then, but it is late at night
Something still doesn't quite look right to me, but I'll sleep and maybe I can make heads and tails of it in the morning.

Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
So what was bugging me last night was that the ceiling values (the values essentially 50-150) were what was capped to the 90,70, 40 and not the end ceiling. When reading the hitting limits they were always written in ambiguously, and so I had taken it as the final value that was capped.
I edited my formula to cap the file ceiling value rather than the possible future value and determined which players were effected by the cap to see how they've developed relative to that cap.
Name HI F.HI
Dillon Dubé 71 58.1
Lias Andersson 68 55.3
Taylor Cammarata 40 30
Kailer Yamamoto 67 58.8
Mitchell Vande 64 56.7
Maxime Fortier 64 57.4
Kasperi Kapanen 61 54.6
Robby Fabbri 57 51.8
To be honest the young guys are smashing it. This formula definitely seems to better describe the floor (at worst guys were 1 or 2 from their ceiling which can be largely rounding errors), but would that technicially mean these guys are classified as overdeveloped?

Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
They probably were created with a HI value higher than their ceilings would take them. I’m pretty sure none of those guys developed to a higher value.
Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
There were a couple guys in the previous draft so we can take a look.
Yammamoto started at 64, is now 67
Lias Andersson started at 50 is now 68
Draft Height for Yam was 68, he's still 68 inches tall.
Draft Height for Lias was 71, and is still 71 inches.

Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
Has anyone talked to Ottawa or Washington recently?
Neither of them have been on since June.
If they aren't even aware of the draft, we might as well auto pick and move on rather than waiting another 12 hours for each of them.

Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
I heard OTT was supposed to log in and make his pick before he times out.
Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
I had a family emergency to deal with when my pick came up, sorry for the holdup there.

Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
I Will pick tonight, before 11 PM Eastern. For now, I'm considering my options (pick, trade). This is my one and only pick this year, might take my Time to do it right...
Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
Anyone heard from Washington?
(Just trying to see if we can bump the speed up a bit here)

Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
So either Justus Annunen (5 G) or Ty Smith (18 D) depending on if we view Washington as GMless.

Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
With NJ on the clock and PIT as an auto-pick the light at the end of the first round tunnel is getting pretty bright.
Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
I believe Pittsburgh takes Olofsson, and we've survived through to the second round.
Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
If Vancouver could trade me all their 2nd round picks that would be great.

I've got 8 picks myself. Just most of them are in the later rounds at this point. Next pick is going to be a tough one.
Edit: Damn that's was a large image.

I can see him on discord taking care of other EHM stuff, I don't imagine he'll be too long now.
Re: 2018 EHEC Entry Draft
So double auto for Buffalo...two goalies technicially???
Edit: Lukas Dostal and Jesper Eliasson to be specific.

MFW Vancouver doesn't use their 44th pick
