Re: Round One
music begins playing
"BAH GAWD! THAT'S ADAM BURKE'S MUSIC!" A voice exclaims from the nosebleeds at BB&T Center.
Casually walking to the podium, former EHEC Commissioner and Founder, Adam Burke, taps gently on the microphone, peering out at the stunned executives around the league.
Friends, it is an honor to return to Eastside's Hockey Elite Collide and resume the role of the General Manager of the Columbus Blue Jackets. My absence from the league has allowed me to put some things into perspective and realize that I do, in fact, miss the competition, camaraderie, and challenge that comes along with running an EHM franchise. I will start with the slate clean, serving solely as a general manager (with admin rights of course because I pay the hosting bill). The work that Pat, Julien, and Dan have done has surpassed every expectation I could have had when I abruptly placed the league's responsibilities on their shoulders.
We would like to thank the Florida Panthers organization for their hospitality and salute Justin Cote for his Stanley Cup Championship victory.
I am excited to be back and excited to see what the future holds for my Blue Jackets. That future includes our 2015 first-round draft pick, from HC TPS in the Finnish Liiga, forward Mikko Rantanen.

Thank you to the Panthers organization, the city of Sunrise, and to all the great GMs who make this league what it is. Where else would I rather be late on a Saturday night? With that out of the way...
