Attention new GM's! (and old ones too)
I was having a discussion with a fellow GM about a member of the long time EHM community, fhockey.com. The GM made the remark that most of the GMs in this league wouldn't know who he was, since the forums at FHockey have been very quiet the last few years. Which got me to thinking, the same GMs in this league might know how valuable a resource the FHockey forums are. I still scroll through and search for information on EHM and all it's quirks.
I've compiled the "best of" of threads from the "General Questions" forum at Fhockey. There is more knowledge about the game in different sub-forums at Fhockey, and should be considered a great resource for new and old GMs. Even myself found out a few things I didn't know during the process of compiling worthy threads. I hope this improves the knowledge and EHM IQ throughout EHEC, and we will continue to see strong growth and development in the quality of GMs we have. Part of the reason I did this is because I feel we recently hired some quality people and I hope they are in EHEC for the long haul.

Very important:
Also, click is real. *cough* Marc Savard *Cough*
I even forget about that sometimes and get carried away.however, you're saying to train their weak points, and let their strengths develop on their own?

This is the best thing I've read today. Also, if you have a guy who is retiring, over 72OA, CON over 80 and greed under 100 [preferably under 90], if you play him on the farm, he will become angry and his "retiring" status will change to "wants to play on the pro team," thus unretiring him in-game! Just a little food for thought.

I love reading 10 year old forum posts!
Re: Attention new GM's! (and old ones too)
I'm gonna have to try that.
I miss all those GMs/guys posting in there. We're good guys and GMs.

The training thread is a lot to take in but its definitely worth it.

Interesting stuff, and exactly what I've been looking for.

Good to see people are finding it useful. I debated just quoting the relevant posts, but I thought GMs need to make some effort to dig out the good stuff. While the info is useful, nothing replaces testing it out for yourself!

Agreed. And there's enough disagreement (and some head-scratching) to still keep everyone guessing.Tampa Bay GM wrote:Good to see people are finding it useful. I had to edit that typo out of the thread title. I couldn't take it anymore.

Re: Attention new GM's! (and old ones too)
Anybody else want to own up to being an fhockey old-timer?
I wonder whatever happened to some of those guys. Hrudey, Rage, Greg, 12# Peter Bondra, Grind Your Soul. They were around forever and then just disappeared.

I know Mr. Peter Bondra was in ITC forever, then he just got burned out and quit EHM, moved on in life. Me & him basically ran the thing, we were the 2 simmers and handled everything. Grind Your Soul is Jer, Jeremy, who I still talk to occasionally on facebook. Lost the drive for it when ITC shutdown, now has a kid, so don't see him ever coming back, but amazing GM, did a lot for ITC too.Bub(NYR) wrote:Anybody else want to own up to being an fhockey old-timer?

Only on quoted posts pre-change. And it's killing me there, too, but I'm too lazy to fix it.CapsGM wrote:Still on the top of every post subject though.Bub(NYR) wrote:"...(and old ones to)"Tampa Bay GM wrote:What was the typo Adam? Maybe sticky this thread as well....

Koltsy, although I was never a big poster. Had joined when I was 16, 2004. I still talk to JayzinSmith, although he's sworn off EHM leagues for awhile now.Bub(NYR) wrote:Anybody else want to own up to being an fhockey old-timer?

I will get the code working so that you can update lines and send instructions in the morning, Brandon. Welcome to the league!
