Peter Regin's hat trick sends the Grand Rapids Griffins to the second round as they eliminate the Rockford Ice Hogs. Peoria also advances by upsetting #1 seed Milwaukee. Matthew Beattie's two goals keep the Barons alive against the Marlies. Abbotsford gets Alexander Khokhlachev back and they find their offensive legs, beating the Checkers 4-1 and sending the series back to Charlotte for Game Six.

Finally had a powerplay goal... too bad it was meaningless.
I won't go down without a fight. Still I don't understand why I'm not easily winning this matchup. The Checkers are a so-so team at best and my team was an offensive dynamo all season long.

Note to self: We need better defensive forwards in the farm, all out attack is not effective in the playoffs.

A road win now is all I wish for.
