The game kept rejecting the Tedenby offer saying it would cause the team to go over budget. I manually put Rolston in the FA pool and it worked.

I'm sure you weren't keeping him for his ridiculous price tag anyway. But, he's a FA now and min bid is just shy of 3.8M.

May have to do this with others. If I do, I'll just edit this post.

An award has been determined in the Johnny Oduya arbitration.

Terms: 4 yrs
GM proposal: 2.3M per; comps: Girardi, Daley, Grebeshkov, Colaiacovo, Lydman, Ehrhoff
Agent proposal: 2.75M per; comps: Daley, Stuart, Kuba, Gleason, Ehrhoff, Ballard, Girardi

Some consensus here between the two parties. I'll start with looking at the common comps. Both GM and agent cited Girardi, Daley, and Ehrhoff. Daley and Girardi are very good comps. What makes Ehrhoff less comparable is 15 less CON, and a CON that EHM would consider below average at 58. Both parties also used some players who really don't fit in the discussion all that well with Gleason and Ballard, who both have better DF and 80+ CON and Lydman who is less talented offensively.

Realistically, Oduya falls somewhere between Grebeshkov and Girardi, which is exactly what the range is in this arbitration case. Oduya has consistently put up over 30 points on an average Devils team, stays out of the box, and has a higher CON than Grebeshkov and Girardi. Oduya hasn't played poorly enough to deserve almost the full 30% decrease that the Devils are requesting. That said, Oduya has been slightly overpaid for his EHEC attributes and how many players are similar to him with salaries below 3M.

I'm going to rule in favor of the agent here, but not for the max amount. Considering that Oduya is signing a four-year deal at age 32 when the 2012-13 season starts, a lower amount than requested by the agent is in order.

I award Johnny Oduya a four-year deal at $2,600,000 per season.

Raymond, you can accept/reject the award.

I never got the Helenius arbitration back from one of my agents.

The GM offer was 2.385M for 4 years.

Acting as agent and arbitrator, I don't see where Helenius played poorly enough for a lower salary. I'll keep him at his current 2.5M salary and lock that in for 4 years.
