I can't believe anyone's picking me to knock off LA with a third of my top six forwards injured, but I sure do appreciate the support. 8-)

I'm not going to bother with predictions because I'll either be wildly inaccurate or I'll accidentally curse someone. My official title in the PUHL was "Human Curse" because every playoff series unfolded the exact opposite to my predictions, even after I purposely started predicting the opposite of my own predictions.

Jeez, don't I look smart for waiting until now to predict a Vancouver - Pittsburgh NHL final.

Whatever. Instead I'm going to predict San Jose-Boston finals in both leagues going to game 7. The series will end when Clowe checks Lucic so hard he flies back and knocks the libertarian bullshit all out of Tim Thomas. The puck will trickle across the goal line past the stream of miniature Don't Tread On Me flags and Statue of Liberty trinkets.

He paid Duncan Keith to take out Daniel.

He also paid the officials to not call Dustin Brown for tree hacking Henrik, and didn't call Trevor Lewis on absolute rape of Dan Hamhuis to allow a two-on-one.

Hahaha, Hamhuis fell down on his own, then grabbed on to Lewis' stick with one of the most pathetic dives since Kovalev's limp-wristed hand shaking as a Hab.

Re: EHEC/NHL Playoff Predictions

That was no dive, watch the replay, he took his foot and skated right under Hamhuis' left foot with his own. He slew footed him. Of course he's going to fall down. My point is, you can't not call that to give the other team a 2-on-1 in OT. You simply just can't not call that. Henrik got called for the exact same thing in the first period, and it was 10 x less of a hook. He gave Scuderi I think? one tap on the leg and since the official thought Henrik was going to have a scoring chance he called it. Get some consistency.

I didn't think Lewis deserved a penalty, but in no way shape or form did Hamhuis dive.

That is not a slew foot. A slew foot is when you kick out someone's leg from under them. The only reason Lewis even bumps into Hamhuis is that Hamhuis slows down trying to make a tight turn after he's poke checked and loses balance. Then Hamhuis grabs Lewis' stick and goes for a spin.

Get over it, poor defense lost the game just like Edler blew at least two of the previous games practically on his own. Or maybe you can blame Kesler for being virtually invisible the entire series other than a few dives of his own.

You know, or maybe, the Kings were just the better team. Quick was great, Sutter outcoached Vigneault, and the Kings best players played like their best players while Kesler was invisible and Henrik was useless without Daniel.

Sutter's familiarity with the Canucks really showed in this series. He knew exactly how to play them in the neutral zone, leading to a boatload of Canucks turnovers.

Quick had great scouting reports on the shooters and made a lot of difficult saves look easy.

I wouldn't be shocked to see the Kings march to the SCF.

I wouldn't say the Kings were that great outside of Brown. Kopitar and Richards were on and off, Carter was invisible and they had also as much trouble scoring as the Canucks did. They were still better than the Canucks but I don't see the Kings matching up particularly well against St. Louis, who seem to basically be playing the Kings' style of game but better.

Canucks made Quick look a lot better than he was. Mitchell was a beast. Doughty sucked as per usual, and Richards stole Game 1 but either than that wasn't too incredible. Brown stole Game 2 but either than that did some cheap shit on Henrik. I don't think it came down to coaching at all.

Coaching wasn't the only reason, but it had an impact. Sutter > Vigneault. Especially in Games 1 & 2.

And, apparently, a lot of teams made Quick better than he was this year, seeing as how he should win the Vezina Trophy.

Vancouver fans are a riot. They're the sweetest team in the world and everyone else is some cheap-shotting bunch of idiots who deserve no respect.

Either way, no matter which Kings did what, their star players were better than Vancouver's. If they hadn't been, Vancouver would have won the series.

You're right, Walters, STL could sweep the Kings. Who knows. The West is wide open now.

Re: EHEC/NHL Playoff Predictions

I think coaching actually had zero impact. They don't partake in the game at all. It wasn't AV's fault Alex Edler was a useless piece of shit and throwing pucks over the glass. Wasn't Sutter that made Quick play well. Wasn't Sutter that made Mitchell & Brown play well. Wasn't AV's fault that Kesler went 17 games without a goal.

This series was a lot closer than 4-1. You look at Game 1 and a puck deflects off a skate and right to Penner with 3 minutes left in the game for the winning goal. Unlucky. Game 2, Canucks don't understand what a PP is and they lose giving up 2 SH goals. Really the only game you can flat out say LA deserved to win.

Game 3, Canucks hit the post on back-to-back plays while also narrowly missing for the rest of the night and lose 1-0. Unlucky yet again.

Game 4 the Canucks romped them. Game 5 was even until the 3rd when Canucks couldn't find their legs for most of the period and Hamhuis falls down, 2-on-1, goal. Unlucky yet again. Raymond hit the post moments before that as well. Unlucky.

If a couple of bounces went the Canucks way we're looking at 4-1 Canucks, 3-2 Canucks or at the very worst 3-2 LA. Evidently not, and that's what the NHL playoffs are all about You look at last year, Kevin Bieksa scores one of the weirdest goals I've ever seen, and Canucks seal the deal onto the Cup finals.
