Nice win boys to keep pace with the Rangers & Bruins. Damn you TB!

Hemsky still goaless, although picks up two assists. Boyle still goaless, and Chipchura still goaless. Chara two apples, with Souray getting a goal + assist. Outshot 31-26, with a 5-3 win, decent night for Price. Not spectacular, but could have been worse for sure.

Got the near impossible back-to-back of NYR-WSH up soon, while BOS plays the Capitals, gets a day off then Islanders & Rangers back-to-back, before finishing with PIT, OTT, BUF. While I finish with TB, CAR, and TOR.

The playoff picture will soon be set as we place another eight games into the history books. Carolina and Toronto reach a gentleman's agreement before the contest. Hurricanes collect two points, Toronto maintains ping pong positioning in a close game. New Jersey smokes the Blackhawks, while the Isles steal the second point from Jake Allen and the Penguins.

Washington inches closer to clinching the top seed. Boston and Montreal post matching victories in the battle for the Northeast. St. Louis hopes to have a late run to avoid an embarrassing collapse. The Rangers keep rolling along, but unfortunately lose a defensive cog as we head toward the postseason.

Ugh, that's not really what I was hoping to see tonight. Still amused by Pittsburgh losing in the shootout and Minnesota manage just 9 shots in a game where they had 4 powerplays at home, though.

Third year in a row losing a D cog right before the playoffs: 2010 -- Klesla; 2011 -- Staal; 2012 -- Del Zotto. :|

Otherwise....Larsson with his 3rd shutout, in 15 games (ok, he's no Thomas Greiss)...Jim Slater fights former Ranger (and linemate) Ethan Werek...and the schedule gets rough from here out; six games left, all against playoff teams: @ WPG, MTL, BOS, @ PHI, @ PIT, WSH.

Our lucky number is 2 -- any combination of 2 Rangers wins and/or Flyers losses clinches a playoff berth.

test sims were about 50/50; hard earned 2 points due to one of ovy's best games on the season with the 3 pointer

Indeed, Was telling Adam last night that I wouldn't be surprised if it went either way because in half I won 3-1, and half I lost 4-2.

Certainly would have loved the two points but couldn't necessarily expect them, and now I need to hope for a miracle tonight with Toronto.

Shit, just realized what all actually happened last night. Gaustad takes a run at Godfrey and gets five games, which is fair but a pretty terrible time to have that happen, and I'm curious what happened with Johansen and Alzner considering Joh is now day to day, and Alzner is still active.

Didn't see that. I was thinking how Godfrey was the perfect player to go on LTIR so I could call up some guys with more leadership (i.e. Walker, Modano).

Oh, and Alzner will remember Mr. Gaustad if we meet in the playoffs. 8-)

Yes, and according to Joh, he will remember Alzner.
