The Flames lose the game, but more importantly lose newly-acquired Nick Bjugstad until training camp of next season. The Sharks and Sabres grind one out on the West Coast with the Sharks gathering two points. The Flyers continue to lose when I sim (sorry Ryan), the Rangers needed all four of Connecticut Whale Robin Figren's goals in order to beat the Hurricanes but he was playing in Hartford, and the Jets have trouble gelling in their first game after the deadline in a shutout loss to the Panthers.

Odd EHM hands Ryan Malone the 2nd star with a measley one assist. Marc Savard returns to the scoresheet and I'm happy to see my 2nd line produce in another contest. 3 out of 4 goals from that line tonight. Good rival matchup with Toronto on Saturday. Tough loss for the Devils but I'm happy to see the Sharks do me a favour (somewhat).

Holy fuck, Sauer AGAIN? He may end up leading the team in PIM despite playing less than half the season.

Sorry, Julien.

Nice bounce-back game for Bryz against one of the best. Whoa, Ollie E-L had 10 hits. And watch out for Brett Connolly. That kid is gonna be a star I tells ya.

Not bad. We need some work, but not bad. Keeping up with Montreal and Buffalo at this point will do it.

Nice grindy victory and a clean one with just one fight and offseting roughing calls. My favourite part is Lidstrom scoring from Forbort and Kubina. Who the hell needs forwards with defensemen like that? My least favourite is Schwartz out for a month and Thornton for a week, though he should be back in time for Saturday night's game (don't ask).

And damn it Julien, I needed an assist from you. Instead all I get is yet another reason that prick Sauer should be banned for life.

What a fucking bummer this morning.
Feels like I've come this far only to get snake bitten once more. All these efforts turned to shit by Kurt Sauer.

Amazing. Here's the story for the last two weeks:

1. Test sim. Win.
2. Repeat. Win again.
3. Repeat. Win again.
4. Check to see if opponent has changed lines. He hasn't. Send in my lines.
5. Next day, check scores. Lose.
6. Check opponent's lines. No changes.
7. Repeat for next game, ad infinitum.

The definition of crazy is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different things to happen, but getting the same result. So, I'm fucking crazy apparently.

I think I need to go George Costanza and do the opposite of what feels right. :|

That's such an awesome concept.

"I'm George. I'm unemployed and I live with my parents."

Best pickup line ever.

I was thinking about letting Sauer go at the end of the season, but since he's turning all my competition into the walking wounded, there's no way I can allow him to be signed somewhere else just so he can ride into Phoenix and cripple half MY team. Plus, the going rate on defensively solid depth defencemen who can throw the body and provide some leadership seems to be $3M a season. I guess Sauer isn't half as overpaid as I thought.

Fucking Colin White. :P

Happy with the effort against a very tough SJ squad, though surprised there was only three goal totals, as in five sims the total was never below five.

Good clean game, SJ. Was hoping to get an assist from Minnesota, but 15 shots with 5 power plays won't get it done. Back at it Saturday, hoping to get my second line going again.

Hey, he'll be available again next year. :P

Or I use the TO, and we deal Sauer for White. If I'm not going to win, at least I can kill a few guys. :)

Throw in Slater and we can talk. :D

Honestly though, Sauer really is running roughshod over the entire league. I've never seen one player cause so much damage in such a short period of time, and I've been playing EHM for ten years. And Sauer's not even that GOOD...

Losing to Phoenix is OK. I mean, it's pretty bad but I can get over it.
What's terrible is losing Nick Bjugstad for 5 months.

Just so we're clear, he's probably the guy I had the most faith in going into postseason.

Next season, Nick Bjugstad will score 35 goals. Remember you heard it here first.
