Five separate intent to injure penalties resulting in a couple of significant injuries. Artemy Panarin will miss the next four months and Kyle Turris will sit out for a month. On the ice, the Jackets look like a real hockey team while three shootouts and an overtime game provide league-wide excitement. Except for Washington/Winnipeg, which led to the majority of the crowd leaving early in disgust to watch the Jets-Broncos game which they deemed to be more exciting.

In other news, the league has reviewed the Nov. 14 incident between Buffalo's Zack Kassian and Montreal's Patrik Nemeth and has decided to suspend Zack Kassian for the next eight games.

Pavel Kubina takes out Matthew Lombardi indefinitely (why poor Lombo??) and beats up former Shark Alex Grant. Coincidentally, Lombardi also suffered an injury in the NHL tonight, although I hope it's not indefinite. And finally, the three top teams in the west are LA, SJ and PHO... goddamn this division sucks. They're half of the 6 teams above .700 in the league.
