The preliminary round is complete, look for a new savefile tomorrow which will include the a round of elimination matches to determine the quarterfinals. As far as tonight's action went: the Russians go down again, this time against the Czechs, the Canadians pepper the US with shots on their way to a big win while the Swedes outduel the Finns on the unlikely golden stick of Mattias Ohlund. http://www.ehechockey.com/Olympics.zip.

Looks like Brodeur had his good game in these Olympics and Miller had his good game in real life. Whoops.

Heres the results, just thought i would throw them together to help myself clear up some issues on who plays who haha...

(3-0, +12)Canada (Nor, 6-0)...(Sui, 4-1)...(US, 4-1)
(2-1, +2)US (Sui, 3-2)...(Nor, 5-1)...(Can, 1-4)
(0-3, -6)Switzerland (US, 2-3)...(Can, 1-4)...(Nor, 1-3)
(1-2, -8)Norway (Can, 0-6)...(US, 1-5)...(Sui, 3-1)

(1-2, 0)Russia (Lat, 6-0)...(Svk, 1-6)...(Cze, 2-3)
(3-0, +9)Czech Rep (Svk, 6-1)...(Lat, 4-1)...(Rus, 3-2)
(2-1, +3)Slovakia (Cze, 1-6)...(Rus, 6-1)...(Lat, 4-1)
(0-3, -12)Latvia (Rus, 0-6)...(Cze, 1-4)...(Svk, 1-4)

(2-0-1, +5)Sweden (Ger, 4-2)...(Bel, 4-2)...(Fin, 3-2 OT)
(2-0-0-1, +7)Finland (Bel, 5-1)...(Ger, 5-1)...(Swe, 2-3 OT)
(0-3, -7)Germany (Swe, 2-4)...(Fin, 1-5)...(Bel, 2-3)
(1-2, -5)Belarus (Fin, 1-5)...(Swe, 2-4)...(Ger, 3-2)

Standings:

(3-0, +12) - Canada - 1st
(3-0, +9) - Czech Rep - 2nd
(2-0-1, +5) - Sweden - 3rd
(2-0-0-1, +7) - Finland - 4th

(2-1, +3) - Slovakia - 5th
(2-1, +2) - United States - 6th
(1-2, E) - Russia - 7th
(1-2, -5) - Belarus - 8th

(0-3, -6) - Switzerland - 10th
(0-3, -7) - Germany - 11th
(0-3, -12) - Latvia - 12th

Does that mean it is Slovakia vs. Latvia? US vs. Germany? Russia vs. Switzerland? Belarus vs. Norway? And what does that mean for the next round...worst seed to win plays canada, 2nd worst plays czech? etc.

It was going to be pretty hard for that to happen.....I don't think I saw AO skate anywhere near the middle of the ice the entire game.
