Post all commentary, rumor-mongering, etc, in this thread. Keep it (reasonably) civil.

Our Isles GM and resident teacher is going to be allowed to post his pick early so he can take his kids outside. Working and drafting at once! Such talent!

So with that, a few minutes early, I'd like to say that the 2015 EHEC Entry Draft is officially under way! A virtual welcome from Sunrise, Florida, to wherever you are. Good luck and happy drafting!

I forgot to mention...

I think anyone who times out, and forces the league to select for them, should have their time bank shortened for their next selections. IIRC, it was a select few GM's that held up the draft last year.

Figured it wasn't worth adding those three to your list?

Are the final touch ups on draftees done?

Yes -- forgot to announce it, but made some little bumps to the list of guys I posted the other day.

Nah, our rosters are too crowded. I wouldn't have room for Eichel anywhere.

Should also add that if you make a trade for a pick that is on the clock, you must wait until it gets approved before making your selection. Seems obvious, but last year we had a couple of instances where people assumed approval and took the plunge early...

When did you expected him to go? I expected him to go exactly at 5th place.

No worries.

Got a note re Buffalo's pick, so as soon as Greg makes his pick, or gets a trade approved, I'll post for Buffalo and then it's Nashville's turn.

After Werenski, possibly after some of the forwards on the board too. But that's a matter of opinion.

11 hours into the draft and we've only had 11 picks made and it seems like we're paused now.
Remember, if you don't think you'll be around when your pick comes around, send us a list and we'll keep things moving.
With 20 people online most of the day, it makes no sense that we're down 5 or 6 picks in comparison to last year's draft.

How much longer until Panthers get auto-picked?

12 hours for the first two rounds, then it shortens for rounds after that.

There is a groundswell to change things once we've had to autopick for a GM, to then autopick every time for that GM's subsequent picks. I'm all for this. I know every guy can't be around all the time, but we've repeatedly asked, and the veteran GMs have experienced this before, to have lists or draft requests sent to us, if you know you won't be around. It's that simple.

Our draft takes time, we know that. But we need everyone's help to keep things moving along at a reasonable pace, especially for these early rounds when there are seriously good players available!

Vik, yes -- Columbus' pick will be made this morning as well.

I thought u guys were drafting the best player available for the vacant teams (And not the next guy on the CBS ranking list)?

No, I agree with them, it has to be a list of some sort.

If not, imagine one of the League's members has to pick for someone just in front, or close to him, then drafting his own player..

But what I'd like to know is why can't we see that list, is it the ISS, the CSB? If the staff members can see it before they draft, I think everyone should too, no?

It's top of CSB for active GMs who miss their picks, draft by consensus BPA/need for orphan teams with no GM at all.

''Draft by consensus''?

I don't like that part at all, for the reasons I just mentionned before. :(

I think it should go strictly from the list.

We use a list mixed from the real-life CSB list for all picks the league has to make: orphaned and timed-out teams.
